The Diploma of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (DLSM) course adopted from Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) aims to provide students with a detailed demonstration of the basic and foundational knowledge pertaining to the Logistics Industry. The course equips students with the critical and analytical skills to cope with the higher-level requirement of Logistics Management programmes and the requirements of recruiting organisations.


This course prepares students for productive and fulfilling life-long careers as logisticians. The modules are designed to equip students to develop and maintain operational procedures for transport and logistics organisations, apply and evaluate safety and health policies in the workplace, establish and oversee international distribution networks and freight transfer operations, manage suppliers and customer-focussed supply chain in various contexts within the transport and logistics industry.


In order to perform effectively in the logistics industry, students will acquire talent management skills and knowledge in the global supply chain. This includes managing people performance and team effectiveness. Students can apply for internship with reputed logistics organisations and to learn outside of classroom, on the job to gain first-hand experience of tasks in the supply chain.


By completing this course, students will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts and practices in the field. They will be able to effectively manage transport and logistics operations, including international logistics and distribution networks. Additionally, students will develop strategies to optimize transport and logistics enterprises, enhance supply chain management, and implement human resource management practices within the context of the industry. What is the industry need and market demand?


The objective of this Diploma is to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage and optimize transport and logistics operations in a global context. By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Monitor the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility): Understand the legal and regulatory frameworks related to transport safety, and effectively monitor and enforce safety practices within transport operations.

  • Develop and maintain operational procedures for transport and logistics enterprises: Create and implement efficient operational procedures that ensure smooth and cost-effective transport and logistics activities.

  • Maintain, monitor, and improve transport operations systems: Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to maintain, monitor, and continuously improve transport operations systems, including processes, technologies, and infrastructure.

  • Establish international distribution networks: Develop a comprehensive understanding of international distribution networks, including the identification of key partners, logistics routes, and modes of transport.

  • Manage international freight transfer: Gain the expertise to effectively manage the transfer of goods across international borders, considering customs, documentation, regulations, and risk management.

  • Implement and monitor transport logistics: Apply project management principles to successfully implement and monitor transport logistics plans, ensuring efficient resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management.

  • Manage suppliers: Develop effective supplier management strategies, including supplier selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation, to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.

  • Manage a supply chain: Understand the key components of a supply chain and employ effective management techniques to optimize the flow of goods, information, and resources from suppliers to customers.

  • Manage customer-focused supply chain: Design and implement customer-centric supply chain strategies that enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and overall business performance.

  • Human Resource Management: Develop an understanding of human resource management practices within the context of transport and logistics enterprises, including recruitment, training, performance management, and employee engagement.

What are the course details and entry requirements?


I. Modules Covered:

II. Academic Requirements:

• Obtained at least D for any GCE O Level subject, or

• Higher National ITE Certificate (Higher Nitec), or

• 10 years of formal education or equivalent, or

• Matured students with 30 years and above with at least 8 years of work experience will be considered for admission.


III. English Proficiency:

• IELTS 5.0, or

• AAC EFL Level 4 or equivalent.


(Students without formal English qualification will be given a placement test to determine the level of proficiency.)


IV. Age Requirements:

• Applicants must be of age 16 and above.


V. Course Duration:

• 6 Months + 6 Months Industrial Attachment

• Full-time students: 15 hours per week
