Programme Overview

The Postgraduate Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (PGDLSM) programme provides an advanced understanding of how global supply chains operate and evolve in increasingly complex and interconnected markets. It bridges the disciplines of logistics strategy, supply chain optimisation, integrated logistics communications, cross-cultural management, and global operations management, preparing students to lead effectively in dynamic international supply chain environments.

Programme Objective

Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will be able to:

  • Analyse and evaluate global supply chain structures and strategies, and recommend improvements that enhance organisational competitiveness and value creation.

  • Design, manage, and optimise logistics, warehousing, distribution, and transportation systems using appropriate planning tools, performance metrics, and service-level considerations.

  • Apply supply chain analytics and emerging digital technologies (such as AI, IoT, automation, blockchain, and advanced planning systems) to support evidence-based decision-making and improve supply chain efficiency and visibility.

  • Develop effective procurement, inventory, and supplier relationship management strategies that strengthen sourcing decisions, enhance supplier collaboration, and improve operational performance.

  • Assess supply chain risks, disruptions, and technology-enabled challenges, and propose data-driven mitigation strategies to strengthen resilience in complex global environments.

  • Evaluate and implement sustainable, ethical, and green logistics practices aligned with ESG principles, circular economy approaches, and global regulatory standards.

  • Demonstrate applied competence through industrial attachment by integrating academic knowledge with real workplace logistics and supply chain tasks, problem-solving, leadership, teamwork, and reflective professional development.
